Our Memorable Visit to Nyandungu Eco-Park
On June 4th, 2026, learners from Douce Enfance Nursery School enjoyed an exciting and educational field trip to Nyandungu Eco-Park, one of Kigali's most inspiring environmental conservation sites. The trip provided our young learners with a wonderful opportunity to step outside the classroom, connect with nature, and experience learning in a real-world environment.
From the moment they arrived, the children were eager to explore the park’s beautiful landscapes, walking trails, and natural surroundings. Guided by their teachers, the learners embarked on a journey of discovery, observing various plants, birds, and other elements of nature while learning about the importance of protecting our environment.
The visit also introduced the children to the concept of environmental restoration. Through age-appropriate discussions and observations, they learned how wetlands help protect ecosystems, support wildlife, and contribute to a healthier environment for future generations. These experiences helped transform abstract classroom concepts into meaningful and memorable lessons.
Beyond environmental education, the trip offered opportunities for cultural appreciation, outdoor learning, and social development. Learners participated in games, group activities, and nature exploration exercises that encouraged teamwork, communication, curiosity, and confidence. The outdoor setting provided a refreshing space for children to learn through play, observation, and interaction with the world around them.
